Roses & Lillies - ll

"Roses & Lillies"-(Close Up) Acrylic
on  Canvas - By Mary Maki Rae - 2013 (c)
**********************************
Finally finished the Painting - after setting it aside for a few days.
Came back and was amazed at how the addition of three Butterflies and a small stand of Wild Lavender Flowers - visually balanced all those Lillies and Roses.
Love the results - It's akin to the sudden discovery of a lively - profuse Meadow - filled with lovely - luxuriant Flowers-!

Looks like some Sunny Weather is finally here for a while -!

Working on a new painting - inspired by a small one from a few summers ago - the vivid lime green and light blues seem so Spring-like to me-!
I was thinking of a dream garden setting - or a Wild field of Flowers.
Back in a while . . . .

Details from the Small painting - so inspiring-! My Garden Palette was so filled to Capacity that Summer-!

Garden Plans

"A Pocket Garden" 15"x 15" Acrylic on Canvas - By Mary Maki Rae - 2013(c)
**********************************
I Painted this many Summers Ago - when my Flowers were so Unbelievably Abundant-!
It just Amazed me how the smallest of Pocket Gardens- by Mid-Summer will Bloom so Profusely-!
They are visited in this Painting above - by two Golden Sparrows.
"The Magic Tea Kettle" 7"x10" Acrylic on Canvas By Mary Maki Rae - 2013(c)

The Magic Tea Kettle can change into many different Colors and with many different Messages. Here He is showing my Minimalist Garden Plan for this year.

On the First shelf are Anemones in Blue - Red - and Magenta. I'm looking forward to Painting these as - I never have before.

On the Second level are the Princely Tulip Mix in Lavender - Magenta - and Yellow.
On the very top are "Angelique" Tulips - which are really a lighter Pink than I've Painted - They're very Lovely - and remind me of Peonies.
Lots of tulips-! But- They should be Interesting to Paint with their long Curvy Stems-!
